Police Lines School & College Career 2023
One is used for primary school, the other for high school and high school. On July 29, 2020, the DIG of Rangpur Range inaugurated the foundation stone of the new building. The school has co-educational activities from first class to twelfth class. Each class has several branches. Education activities are conducted in the departments of humanities, business education and science in the ninth-tenth classes and higher secondary. The school is non-residential. There are a total of 141 staff. The branches of this school have been named after different flowers. Such as Jaba, Belly, Jasmine, Rose, Shapla, Padma etc. Rajarbagh Police Line is the main barracks of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). It is located in Rajarbagh, an area under Shahjahanpur police station in Dhaka. There is a small barracks for officers as well as barracks for constables.
The parade ground of Dhaka Metropolitan Police is also located in Rajarbagh Police Lines. Police Week is organized here every year. There is also a pond, a horse farm, an educational institution and a museum. The first armed resistance was started in 1971 at Rajarbagh Police Lines. Operation Searchlight was conducted by Pakistani forces on March 25, 1971. The first objective of the Pakistani forces was to attack the Rajarbagh police line. On the night of March 25, Pakistani forces surrounded the Rajarbagh police line. Weapons were then delivered to the police from the arsenal. The first bullet fired for the liberation war was fired from the Chamelibagh police barricade, killing two Pakistani soldiers. When the police ran out of weapons and ammunition, the invading forces launched an attack at breakneck speed.

The Pakistani army fired shots and artillery shells overnight, killing many policemen. The war of liberation started from here. In order to improve education in the western part of Rajshahi metropolis, the educational institution was inaugurated on 16.08.1959 by the then Governor of East Pakistan on a 1.75 acre land at Rajshahi Police Line premises. Later (in the post-independence period) the school was upgraded to a high school in 1961 AD and the school was renamed as “Shaheed Mamun Mahmud School and College” after the late Shaheed Bir Muktijoddha and then DIG of Rajshahi region Mamun Mahmud. Recognition as Lower Secondary 01/01/1970 and Recognition date of the school as Secondary is 01.01.1981.
When this educational institution was upgraded to Class XII in 1995, it was renamed as “Shaheed Mamun Mahmud Police Lines School and College”. The name of the founding headmaster is Mr. Md. Noor Mohammad. He was in charge from 1959 AD to 1982 AD. The name of the current head of the organization (principal) Mr. Md. Golam Mawla. He has been working since 09.01.2008. The present number of students is about 1135 (from children to class XII).
